March 2007, Whitepaper - On Demand Business Process Management - George Barlow and I wrote this whitepaper on, Appian Anywhere, Appian's business process management software as a service (SaaS). George Barlow is GM of Appian Anywhere and a very good friend of mine. January 2007, KM World - Speak Softly and Carry a Big BPM Suite - This article discusses the importance of business process management technology in helping drive process efficiencies across all major verticals. It discusses the combination of SOA and BPM as a framework for composite applications and how human workflow is incorporated into an overall vision of process improvement. 3/6/2007 - ebizQ BPM In Action Virtual Conference. I participated on a panel entitled "BPM and Enterprise 2.0" discussing how Web 2.0 technologies and concepts have advanced in the consumer world and how they arebeginning to impact enterprise software as users change their expectations of how software should behave. Other panelists included Phil Gilbert, CTO of Lombardi Software, and Ismael Ghalimi, CEO of Intalio. The panel was moderated by Sandy Kemsley, BPM Blogger and Architect. 2/9/2007 - ebizQ BPM Podcast. I was offered the opportunity to provide a podcast on Appian's BPM software in conjunction with ebizQ. Entitled "Appian Enterprise 5.5: BPM Via Your iPod?", the podcast discussed how business process management is beginning to expand in both scope and responsibility. 10/17/2006 - Object Management Group (OMG) BPM/SOA Workshop - Burlingame, CA. I participated on a panel entitled "Integrators’ and Tool Implementers’" OMG gathered experienced integrators and tool designers/builders to discuss the rewards and problems that arise as you move from BPM, through MDA/UML, to development, deployment, and software evolution and maintenance of large, multi-enterprise WS/SOA systems. The presentation was entitled "Using BPM to Help Secure your SOA.
